Η συζήτηση για τον επόμενο γύρο αύξησης των επιτοκίων συνεχίζεται σε επίπεδο κεντρικών τραπεζών τόσο στις ΗΠΑ όσο και στην Ευρώπη και τη Μεγάλη Βρετανία. Μια νέα, 10η ή 11η αύξηση των επιτοκίων θα καταφέρει να τιθασεύσει τον πληθωρισμό ή θα συνεχιστεί αυτό το παιχνίδι αύξησης των επιτοκίων και παρακολούθησης της αντίδρασης των τιμών καταναλωτή που δημιουργούν πληθωριστικές πιέσεις; Όλοι περίμεναν τι θα πει ο κύριος Jerome Powell στο συνέδριο οικονομικής πολιτικής στο Jackson Hole. Δυστυχώς δεν άφησε περιθώρια για παρερμηνείες εφόσον ανέφερε πως παρά τις εμφανείς προσπάθειες μείωσης και σταθεροποίησης του πληθωρισμού όπως αποτυπώνεται και στο παρακάτω διάγραμμα, παραμένει ακόμα σε υψηλά επίπεδα ιστορικά, γκρεμίζοντας τις φρούδες ελπίδες ότι θα σταματήσει η αύξηση των επιτοκίων που στο τέλος αναπόφευκτα θα προκαλέσει βαθιά ύφεση στην Αμερικανική και Ευρωπαϊκή οικονομία. Αντίστοιχα και στην Ευρώπη πληθαίνουν οι φωνές οι οποίες αναμένουν μια νέα ώθηση στα επιτόκια. Κάποια στιγμή η αυστηρή ...

Back in 1997, Michael Ridpath published his book, Trading Reality, which I started reading recently and it definitely got me by surprise. Why? Well, I consider the author an early visioner of the coming Virtual Reality digital world(s) now taking place with all the Metaverse hype and developments. Hello friends. I am delighted to share with you a very good documentary I recently watched and highly suggest to you in order to understand more how AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithms are designed and developed mirroring the established negative side of offline norms, ethics, racial taboos, misconceptions, social prejudices, only to be reconstructed in the digital world and enforcing AI technologies upon people in every day life, inside society (see China, UK recently) without considering creating a new layer of a more horizontally and fair ethical behavior of AI systems towards humans.

Closing 2019 with the last post in my blog. In the past during Christmas, I would add my personal predictions for the next year, technological changes and new hot innovations, geopolitical dangers, current economic and financial state of the world, analysis on global affairs, my views on how different topics intertwine together.  This time I want to suggest you to dive in the following documentary and question yourself if the modern world is still thinking in Medieval terms and in Medieval ways. Recently watched the documentary film ''The Great Hack'' which was pretty good I think as it raises important questions about the endless personal data we provide online as individuals and internet users of web platforms and consumers-contributors of social media. Questions about who owns our personal data, who has access to these data, how third parties exploit our online data in order to benefit economically, create political campaigns and target people strategically.  I believe that the film spurs an ongoing conversation for the hot topic about US elections-facebook-Cambridge Analytica-Russia but at the same time it can also manipulate your view to look through the lense and the filters of the film in order to agree with the narrators.  -Stathis Kassios
