Hello friends. I am delighted to share with you a very good documentary I recently watched and highly suggest to you in order to understand more how AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithms are designed and developed mirroring the established negative side of offline norms, ethics, racial taboos, misconceptions, social prejudices, only to be reconstructed in the digital world and enforcing AI technologies upon people in every day life, inside society (see China, UK recently) without considering creating a new layer of a more horizontally and fair ethical behavior of AI systems towards humans.

Currently reading this book by one of my favorite philosophers. Arthur Schopenhauer's '' 38 ways to win an argument. The Art of Being Right''.  I strongly believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will never understand or successfully apply the methods of this book because of the darker uncharted sides of human nature and mind. Recently watched the documentary film ''The Great Hack'' which was pretty good I think as it raises important questions about the endless personal data we provide online as individuals and internet users of web platforms and consumers-contributors of social media. Questions about who owns our personal data, who has access to these data, how third parties exploit our online data in order to benefit economically, create political campaigns and target people strategically.  I believe that the film spurs an ongoing conversation for the hot topic about US elections-facebook-Cambridge Analytica-Russia but at the same time it can also manipulate your view to look through the lense and the filters of the film in order to agree with the narrators.  -Stathis Kassios

Please introduce yourself to the readers of this blog. What is the story behind Noowit? I am Nikolaos Nanas, co-founder of Noowit. Noowit’s history goes all the way back to 2000 when I started my PhD on Artificial Intelligence with a focus on Information Filtering and Content Personalization. I finished my PhD in 2004 and until 2010 I continued studying and improving the Immune-Inspired User Profiling model, which was the result of my PhD work.
