Central banks should drastically ease tight monetary policy in 2024 and beyond to slash interest rates amid growing fears for their economies. -FDI (foreign direct investment) is back at 1990s levels in #China as the risk of war with #USA is more possible compared to 1978 when FDI flourished. Other reasons may be found in strict COVID-19 policies that slowed down economic activity, disrupted supply chains, shift of production to other countries with similar cost effective labor force, intellectual property theft (West tech being stolen), shift of main trading partners for exports/imports and the Communist ruling party desperate calls to foreign investors. – Efstathios Kassios
