Would Steven Spielberg remix his own films?

Here's a nice article I read on The New Yorker today about Steven Spielberg's first steps as a director. The author of the article discusses the freedom & wide variety of media tools which new & independent creators have access to these days in comparison to the past when a very limited set of resources existed to make your own film, and limited channels of distribution too (no Youtube, Vimeo for self promotion back then).
